UPDATE: 10/2/2009
from the Dobieden. This dog remains unpaid over 3 years after
being shipped to Kathleen and Kerry Gurklies of MoonDancer Dobermans
in Carbon, IN. I have followed all legal procedures and they
have been presented with legal collection letters from my lawyers in
North Carolina and Indiana. Small Claims charges were filed on
Sept 20, 2009 and are now going through the processes. So
whether or not they ever pay for the dog they stole, it is now a
legal record of non-payment of a debt and goes against their
credit. And they think they're so smart by trying to avoid the
inevitable. When you steal something that isn't yours, you're
only going to have to pay in the long run. And since they have
inconvenienced us, not only are they charged with theft, but now
they are responsible for paying all the legal fees, and it's still
going against their credit report. Certainly not an example of
smart in anyone else's book but their own.
UPDATE: 10/30/2009
from the Dobieden. Kathleen and Kerry Gurklies have now been
reported to several credit bureaus for unpaid debt. This will
stand as a delinquent expense until the full amount, plus interest,
is paid. It will also be reported on taxes as an uncollected
debt, which will also go against their business, MoonDancer
Dobermans on a Federal note until full amount is paid. They
will no longer be able to register any of their dogs until the full
amount is paid.
UPDATE: 12/30/2009
from the Dobieden. 2009 is now closed and it looks like
Kathleen and Kerry Gurklies are totally out of doberman
breeding. Mission accomplished. Their credit is also
destroyed because of this theft, another mission accomplished.
Their name in the AKC books is literally mud because of their
dishonesty. Guess when you lay down with dogs you get up with
fleas, and when you try to cheat an honest business person out of
what is rightfully theirs, the culprit is going to pay in the
longrun. The Dobieden has proven their case in the court
system and has legally listed the Gurklies as thieves in two
states. It will be a long time, if ever, that they will be
able to clear the stigma they have put on themselves, and even begin
to clear their reputation in the world of honest dog owners.
They are certainly not members of that particular circle of life.
UPDATE: 2/4/2010
from the Dobieden. Surprise, surprise! Seems like
Kathleen Gurklies has once again changed the name of her operation
in an effort to hide from legal proceedings. In 3.5 years, she
has now changed the name of her operation four times that I
personally know of. Tell me, if you were a legitimate business
person, what ever would be your purpose to continually change your
business name if you were trying to build up a good
reputation? The ONLY reason I know of is if you are trying to
stay on the run in front of people you had conned for one reason or
another. I understand I am one of several people who have lost
material things to this woman. So again, there is a serious
BUYER BEWARE WARNING to anyone having anything to do with this
individual. Several people have lost things dealing with her
in the past. I was just one of several she thought she could
use, abuse, and throw away only to move on to the next poor sap.
